Let our guided city tour of Dubrovnik Old Town weave the story of its history and its present into the splendid fabric of fine architecture and magnificent city walls.

Starting from Pile square on the eastern side of Dubrovnik Old Town, embark on a walking tour through the maze of narrow streets, lively piazzas, and stunning palaces like Sponza and churches like St. Blaise. Enjoy the moderate tempo of your walk as you stroll down the main thoroughfare of Stradun, all the way to the Cathedral and the Rector’s Palace, where you will discover a fine synergy between governance and faith which kept Dubrovnik afloat as the independent Republic of Ragusa for 450 years.

Departing Pile square on foot toward the newly open Cable Car Station situated in the vicinity of the Old Town of Dubrovnik. Upon arrival to the Cable Car Station, you will proceed with a cable car to a panoramic view of Dubrovnik from the surrounding Srd hill. From here you will be offered a bird’s – eye view of the greatness of the entire city and surroundings of the centuries-old Dubrovnik rooftops which you will never forget. Upon return ride to the main Station, your tour guide will lead you by foot to the Old Town of Dubrovnik for the walking tour. Walking tour will open the doors to you to one of the largest and most luxurious open-air museum towns in existence. The famous Croatian tourist center awaits you, encircled by its monumental stone ramparts, which have preserved and enhanced Dubrovnik’s spirit of Renaissance. You will be awed by the labyrinth of short, narrow stone streets, the market place, palaces, towers, monasteries, and houses, each of which is over 300 years old! “ Those who seek paradise on earth”, George Bernard Shaw once wrote, “should come to Dubrovnik ”. Today he might add that Dubrovnik is the place for all those who wish to renew themselves and their faith in human nature.

Stari Grad – the old city of Dubrovnik and its medieval walls have been designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Parts of the walls date from the 13th century.

Leaving Pile squar on the foot, your guide will lead you through west side entrance to the Old Town where your special exploration begins. You will explore the town of Dubrovnik before going to the walls which were completed in the 13th century. The ramparts are intact and encircle the old city with a circumference of more than a mile and a half.

Ascending the stairway at Pile Gate, you will soon reach the top of the wall where your guide will lead you on a walking tour along its entire length. You will see the gorgeous Minčeta Fortress, St. John`s Fortress, Bokar Fortress and the Maritime Museum.

On this tour you will visit the Lovrijenac fortress, Dubrovnik city walls, walk the streets and parks of this ancient city where the filming of the famous HBO series Game of Thrones took place. Description:

 

You will start with a pleasant panoramic ride along the Adriatic coastline; the first stop will be made in the small village of Orasac where we will participate in a demonstration of production of olive oil the old fashioned way, where the «mill» is run by a horse. Here you will also have the opportunity to taste some homemade cheese, smoked ham and wine. After visiting the village of Orasac you will continue toward the small town of Ston which is the “oyster capital” of Croatia. Especially interesting are the magnificent 5 km long walls surrounding the town – the longest defense walls after the Great Wall of China. Interesting are also the ancient salt pans were the salt is produced the same way as it was back in the times of the Dubrovnik Republic.  After visiting Ston, enjoy a walk along the seaside in the town of Mali Ston with a magnificent view on the oyster and mussel farms and taste the famous oysters taken out of one of the purest seas in the world.
